well for those who dont bother looking at any of my other work, the sketch of this piece explains the situation

Naraku is defeated and the jewel is whole again..but to an unknowing Inuyasha, the demonic..malicious energy still waits to feed on the demon blood waiting to take control in our young hero's veins. The touch of the tainted jewel sends him into a frenzy, releasing the full frontal assault of his now unleashed demonic nature..the jewel's influence makes his mouth water for blood...Inuyasha's eyes set on his once called friends, he charges, preparing to shred his commarades with the claws he swore to protect them with..But before the hanyou could tear into their flesh, Kagome intervenes, taking the hit and dying at his hand..with the last amount of her spiritual strength she purifies the jewel and releases her love from the grasp the tainted shikon no tama had over his soul. Inuyasha slowly retracts his claws and fangs, his eyes fade to that familiar warm golden brown.. only to take in the sight of Kagome's blood soaking into the ground, and her spirit slowly fading into the sky..
